Efficient energybalance
Aikan produces 600 kWh of energy per ton of food waste, whereas the internal consumption is only 69 kWh per ton including all handling of waste on the plant.
The energy production comes in the form of 60 normal cubic meter of pure methane.
The typical energy consumption is 11 kWh electricity, 22 kWh fuel for mobile machinery and 36 kWh heat for the reactor.
Heat consumption is given under typical Danish weather conditions with relative thin isolation of reactors and process modules. Thus heatconsumption will often be lower.
